It drives me crazy. Like you, I do "green" things because they make sense, both from economic and common sense points-of-view. Recycling has been around for years. I'm part of a team that's restoring a circa 1930 narrow gauge railbus that was made out of recycled rail and truck parts. The railroad's master mechanic didn't reuse parts because it made sense. Why purchase a new differential when a decommissioned logging truck could give up its that were still usable?
